Tattoo After-care

  • Within 3-4 hours of receiving your tattoo, you may remove the protective dressing.
  • Gently cleanse tattoo with lukewarm water and mild soap. Avoid ointment that contains pain relief, as this could draw the colour out.
  • Do not re-dress your tattoo and keep it clean at all times.
  • Avoid covering your tattoo and where possible, expose the tattoo to fresh air, as it will heal faster when it can breathe.
  • Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight.
  • Avoid swimming in chlorinated or salt water for a minimum of 2 weeks!! When bathing, allow water to run over your tattoo and pat dry.
  • After 2-3 days, a light crust or flaking will occur. DO NOT PICK AT OR SCRATCH YOUR TATTOO! – This is nature’s way of healing and doing so can alter the way your tattoo will look once it has healed.
  • Continue to use a vitamin-rich skin moisturizer
  • Your tattoo should be completely healed within 7-10 days. To keep your tattoo looking good, we recommend a good sun block to protect your tattoo from harmful UV rays when exposing it to outdoor activities.
